Redecorating

Last week I was on vacation so I decided I needed to redecorate Patrick's bedroom. It was a lot of work but I thought it turned out pretty cute. The main change I made was I painted the walls. The before photos are at the bottom of the post.

I've Been Tagged

What was I doing ten years ago?: I was living in Independence, Kansas and attending junior college.

5 things on my to-do list today: 1) Do my never ending pile of laundry
2) Fix breakfast, lunch, and snacks for 4 wonderful children (2 of them I babysit)
3) Make an important phone call about a new job.
4) Exercise (I actually have that one finished)
5) Play with my children. Hopefully I can take them outside.

Snacks I enjoy: I love snacking but my favorites would be cheese, snickers, and Diet Pepsi

Things I'd do if I was a billionaire: Pay off my mom and dad's house, buy my sister a new house, give to bible schools, pay off my own house and build a new one.

Bad habits I have:
Snacking when I am not hungry

5 places I have lived:
Parsons, Kansas
Independence, Kansas
Scammon, Kansas
Pittsburg, Kansas
Diamond, Missouri

Jobs I've held:
House cleaner
Worked at a deli
First Grade Teacher
Stay at home mom (probably the most difficult)

Fun Weekend

This weekend we went to Branson with my mom and dad. We went to Silver Dollar City and Celebration City. We had a great time. Sat. was my dad's birthday. The kids were wore out by the time we got home. Nellie loved the rides, however she was too short for a lot of them. She did manage to get on a few of them with daddy.

The Allen's at the Landing

Patrick doesn't really like to go on rides but we managed to get him on the merry-go-round. You can tell by the look on his face he was very uneasy. We ended up taking him off the horse and just seating in a carriage seat. :)

Happy Birthday Patrick!

Patrick turned 4 last Monday. We had a birthday party on Thursday evening at a local arcade that he likes to go to. We had a nice time with family. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATRICK!!

These are some baby chickens that Grandma and Grandpa Allen got Patrick as a gag gift. Patrick wasn't too impressed but Cameron and Nellie loved them. Luckily we found a good home for them. Otherwise they wouldn't have survived at our house. We have a dog and cat who would have enjoyed some fresh chicken.

Tithing is rewarding

I have always been a big believer in tithing. I will admit sometimes when money gets tight it is hard to give up that 10%. However, it never ceases to amaze me how the Lord will bless you and supply your needs if you give your tithe. Yesterday our Sunday School paper have an article called The Bank that Tithed" In this article it told about a banker who tithed from his own wages and also had the bank tithe from their profits. The bank ended up be the most respected bank in his day. While other banks were going bankrupt his was prospering. I thought alot about this article over the day and looked back at my own life and realized that God has helped my family out and has given us what we need plus more. Within the last year he has given my husband a new job that is much better than the last job and he actually doesn't dread going to work as much as he used to (he would still rather stay home and play computer games but duty calls). Then this morning I had another "blessing". One of the mothers that I babysit for brought me a big bag a girl clothes for Nellie. I had just mentioned to Bill yesterday that I was going to need to go and buy Nellie some clothes for this summer, little did I know that God already had some for me. I may still buy her a few little things but I won't have to buy her near as much. The point I hope you get out of this is...the Lord will bless you beyond measure if you give your tithe. Have a great day.

Chef in the Making

This week has been so cloudy and rainy. During weather like this the kids can get very hyper and restless. I decided to make cookies and let Patrick help (the others are still too small). He had a great time and the oatmeal cookies were delicious.
Patrick with the cookie dough. He was very impressed with the mixer.

The finished product

Here is Nellie enjoying the fruits of our labor. She was screaming the entire time because she wanted to help. I think she forgave us once she could eat one.
