My wonderful in-laws just got back from a 10 day trip to Alaska. As you can tell by the picture they didn't forget about the grandkids. Patrick and Nellie received a lot of neat gifts. Nellie loves her new hat. She isn't too fond of the eskimo doll yet. I think it is too fuzzy for her liking. Patrick really likes the husky and the pillow. My children are blessed to have grandparents (both sets) that love them. Thanks Joedy and Margaret!!!

Open House????

We had our open house on Sat. from 9-1. I wish I could report that there was a constant stream of people however not one person came. Several other house in our neighborhood had open houses at the same time and they didn't have any more luck than we did. Our realtor wants to try and have another one next Sunday. I don't want to be a pessimist but I don't look for a better turn out. We live in a small town and not many people drive through it and I think this is why we are having a hard time getting people here. We are not giving up though and we know it will sell eventually.

Update

I haven't posted for awhile and thought I would let the world get a glimpse of what is happening in our lives. Most of my days are spent watching Blues Clues or Max and Ruby. We are also working daily on "following directions" . Patrick seems to think it is all right to hit someone whenever he gets angry or wants something someone else has. Nellie doesn't like this so I will have her screaming and him hitting!! It gets very tiring sometimes. He will learn eventually. The other day Patrick told me he wanted to go to school. I think he is getting bored at home with all these girls.
We still have had no interest in our house. Our realtor is having a open house tomorrow. She has made arrangements for Lowes to come out and do product demos. Hopefully that will bring people out. We know God wants us to move so we are just being patient and waiting for him to work in His own time.
Bill and I got to have a evening to ourselves Tuesday night. My niece, JoNell, came over and watched the kids while we went to Tulsa and picked up Bill's parents from the airport. It was so nice to have a few hours to ourselves. I may be crazy but I love sitting in airports. It reminded me of when I was younger and wanted to be an airline stewardess. I love traveling. If I had a big surplus of money I would travel the world. That must be the McCormick blood. :)
I think Bill had a nice Father's Day. We just spent the day at home. He has been wanting to buy a sailboat and learn to sail (if you know my husband he is always trying something new). So for Father's Day he got sailing lessons. He goes next weekend to Stockton Lake. He is really looking forward to it. I'm not sure what the kids and I will be doing.
Well, now that you are all bored I will say goodbye. I hope you have a great weekend.

Some firsts for Patrick

Patrick has had a few first this week. He is my late bloomer but he is blooming so nicely. We are so proud of him. The first thing is that he has finally decided he wants to dress himself. I have attached a picture of the result. :) He was so proud of himself. Another thing I have been able to get him to do this week is draw a picture instead of just scribbles. I also attached the picture that he drew. I asked him what it was and he said it was a boy. :)

Lately Patrick has been fascinated with bugs!! The other morning I found him on the front porch studying the water bugs that were on the front porch. He calls all bugs ladybugs or itsy bitsy spiders. It really surprises me but he even touches them. Last night I found Nellie was unloading my kitchen cabinets and sitting everything on the dining room table. I think she has been watching mommy pack and thought she was helping. Luckily I caught her before she tried carrying my glass baking ware across the tile floor!!!

Curb Appeal

I wanted to increase the curb appeal of our house since we are tying to sell, so I had my dad make me a few of these window boxes. I thought they turned out so nice. They will look a lot better when the flowers grow and fill in the box. Just an update.....our house has been on the market a month and not one person has looked at it. If you read this blog you may say a little prayer the God will send us a buyer. We would really like to buy us a house when we move to Independence.

Play Time

Now that summer is here I had a few extra kids last week. The oldest one is going into fifth grade and loves to "play school" He had all the kids around the dining room table teaching away. It was really cute.We bought the kids a little wading pool to splash around in. The have really been enjoying it.
