A boy in my class was so nice and brought me a bag full of fresh apples from a tree in his yard.

I came home and made a delicious apple pie with them. It was so thoughtful of him to think of me.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

I want to wish my brother Aaron and sister-in-law Lindsay a happy 2nd wedding anniversary. They are a great aunt and uncle to our children.

Another Accomplishment

This week Patrick and I have been working on writing his name. He is actually doing very well. I know they practice at school but I like to practice at home. I want him to know that I care about what is done at school and that his school work is important. He loves to come home and unload his backpack to show me all the stuff he did that day. I am so glad he likes school. I hope his enthusiasm continues. Here is a picture of his name. See if you can make it out. He definitely needs to work on his "a".

It has been a while since I updated. Things are going well since we moved. I am slowing adjusting to teaching again. I am finding a huge difference between 5th/6th grade and first grade. :) I do like it though.
Patrick and Nellie are adjusting. Nellie does not like going to daycare every day. It breaks my heart when I have to drop her off in the morning and she is crying. Her teachers tell me she cries off and on most of the day. She will learn that mommy comes and picks her up everyday. Patrick on the other hand LOVES preschool. He has a super nice teacher that works well with him. She told me the other day that he knows almost all the letters of the alphabet and numbers to 20. I am so proud of him.
We have had one person look at our house but no offer. Our realtor told us the market in Diamond is really tough right now. I'm not sure what we are going to do.
We still haven't made a decision on the church we will be attending. We are just trying some out right now until we find one we are comfortable at. We went to the church my dad attends this morning and really liked it. The problem is it is quite a drive but it is nice to see mom and dad and spend some time with them. I will try to post some pictures later.

St. Louis Zoo had a wonderful penguin exhibit. They let you get so close to the penguins you could have touched them if you wanted to.
I loved the hippo exhibit. They had 3 of them and they were very active. I actually got to see them swim. Very fasinating .
Elephant baby.
Patrick got this hat at the zoo and loved it. He wore it all weekend including to bed. He looked really cute in it. I'm not sure what his teachers are going to say tomorrow.
Another thing Patrick enjoyed this weekend was riding the escaltors at the convention center.
This weekend we took a trip to St. Louis with Bill's parents. We normally go this time of year to attend a steel guitar convention. We had a nice getaway and was able to relax a little. We took the kids to the zoo and the Arch. Here are a few pictures. Patrick and Nellie standing in front of the Arch.

Patrick and Nellie posing again!
This was the motel where we stayed and where the convention was held. It is across the street from the St. Louis Cardinals stadium.
